R.D. Scinto, Inc.

You Call Me, You Get Me. Robert D. Scinto, Chairman of R. D. Scinto, Inc., has lived by this fundamental rule, and he has created a legacy on the foundation of hard work, big dreams and careful attention to detail – all of which embody the American dream.

Bob Scinto is a partner to his tenants. With a singular focus of building beautiful things and showering his partners with customer service excellence and amenities that are unsurpassed.

Nothing is left to chance, and Bob Scinto takes nothing for granted – not today, not tomorrow, not ever. The reputation – and life line of R.D. Scinto, Inc. – is built on his commitment to treating all tenants with personal, individual service through dignity, honesty and hard work.

With 32 buildings totaling over 2.5 million square feet of space and an occupancy rate of nearly 98% – soaring well above national averages – Bob Scinto realized long ago that excellence in personal service both retains tenants and captures new ones. More than anything, this philosophy has translated into a successful business model within commercial property ownership and management.

Whatever It Takes

The R.D. Scinto brand revolves around a golden rule when it comes to tenant relationships. When other organizations say no, Scinto finds a way to say yes, even if he needs to personally sit down with a tenant and craft out a solution… whatever it takes.

Bob’s success in real estate is attributed to his commitment and abilities – a levelheaded management style, a well-deserved reputation for integrity and strong desire to build close relationships addressing the demands of his tenants, industry and community.

Tenants First, Prospects Second

Scinto lives by a philosophy that says be grateful for what you have and don’t take people – or tenants – for granted. Bob Scinto puts the same diligent work ethic into tenants looking for 1,000 square feet or 20,000 square feet. Selling only captivates. Consistency captures and retains.

Enthusiasm, genuine concern for all people and personal loyalty inspires employees, befriends tenants and earns the respect of the community.

Nothing Is Impossible

From attending night school to owning approximately 2.5 million square feet of office and industrial buildings in Fairfield County, Bob Scinto is a self-starter.

From his early roots as a plumber, the first Scinto real estate transaction was the purchase of a three-family house in Bridgeport. After many long evening of sweat equity spent rehabilitating the house, Scinto recognized the value of his efforts – creating equity and value through hard work, attentive detail and strong organizational skills.

By applying these principles and an even keel management style, the genesis of a multi-million dollar company was born and soon Bob Scinto was venturing into commercial real estate. The company that began in the basement of a Bridgeport housing project is now a $200 million organization.

Life Belongs to the Community

Throughout his career, Bob Scinto continues to serve the community and actively participates on 15 boards, and he is most fond of those organizations that directly benefit ordinary people. Among these are Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Fairfield County, Discovery Museum, Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut, Boys Club/Girls Club of Bridgeport. He has also serves as Chairman of the Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport’s premier cultural attraction.

In 2007, Bob Scinto received the Distinguished Achievement Award form the Construction Institute, recognizing outstanding contributions to the construction industry.

Though he loves his work, he is a committed family man and with his wife Barbara has raised four wonderful children, Dana, Amy, Katie, and Robert. Bob enjoys boating, golfing, and skiing with his family.

For Bob Scinto, professional and private life is intertwined – courage and innovation to do what is right; generosity and philanthropy to help others do the same.
